Marigold farming flourishes in Lamjung

By Our Correspondent, Lamjung, Nov. 7: Marigold farming has expanded in Lamjung district this year, with a growing number of farmers taking up flower cultivation. In previous years, only two or three farmers were engaged in the business, but many more have joined the sector this year.

Farmers said marigold flowers blooming during the Tihar season have not only enhanced the beauty of their surroundings but also increased their income. Interestingly, four journalists from the district have also taken up marigold farming this year. Having spent years reporting on people's stories and hardships, they are now putting their own sweat into the soil, seeking to make commercial flower cultivation a source of income and self-reliance.

Despite their busy schedules in journalism, flower farming has emerged as an attractive agricultural venture for them. Their fields, now covered with blooming marigolds, have added colour to the landscape while opening up new avenues of income.
