'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha' actress Shin Min-a quietly donated over $2.7 million in 15 years to help burn victims, underprivileged children and vulnerable families

South Korean actor Shin Min-a, best known internationally for her performances in 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha', has drawn attention for a charitable record that spans more than 15 years. The actor has reportedly donated over 3.7 billion won (approximately $2.7 million) during this period, supporting burn victims, children from low-income families and other vulnerable communities.

Her contributions came to light after a post attributed to a foundation representative revealed that the organisation initially believed the recurring deposits from her bank account were made by mistake, according to The Korea JoongAng Daily. The post, which circulated across online communities and social media in South Korea, described how substantial amounts of money had begun arriving in an organisation's account every month in 2009. The person claiming to represent the foundation said they initially struggled to identify the source of the deposits before discovering that they were coming from Shin.
