Mesmerising November Sky

This month's night sky invites sky-gazers to enjoy and understand the spectacular sights and mind-boggling mysteries of planets, stars, constellations, and other celestial objects bejeweling the heavens. Planet Mercury can be glimpsed in the eastern sky at dawn after mid-month in the constellations Virgo (the maiden) and Libra (the scales). Mercury undergoes its immense western elongation from the Sun on 20 November. It is a tremendous time to marvel at Mercury, as it will be at its highest position above the horizon in the morning sky.

Otherwise, the planet would be glittering low in the eastern sky before sunrise. Planet Venus can be discerned in the south-eastern sky tersely before sunrise. It is sailing serenely through the commanding constellation Virgo. Ruddy planet Mars would be rising in the eastern sky and ascending in the eastern sky late at night.

It would be evanescent slowly as the morning daylight enkindles the southeastern sky. It can be traced in the constellation Leo (lion). The mammoth planet Jupiter can be seen from late night in the southeastern sky till daybreak.
