Who is Navneet Alag? Meet husband of newly elected Indian-American congresswoman Pia Dandiya

39-year-old Pia Dandiya is one of the Indian-Americans to have left a mark in the ballot box in the midterms. The Democratic leader won an election to the US House of Representatives from Florida.

A first-time candidate belonging to a family of doctors, Pia may appear to be a chance politician as she has been a teacher and a principal, but she has wanted to be in politics since she was 13. Becoming a Congresswoman at her first election is not a dream come true yet -- when she was a child, she dreamed to be the US president one day.Pia lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, with her husband Navneet Alag and their son, Sahib.Alag, a bioech investor, has maintained a relatively low public profile throughout the campaign.

His Linkedin profile indicates that he studied in both India and the US. He has publicly expressed support for Dandiya's political career.
