'Patiala Peg', 3 Other Songs Banned From Diljit Dosanjh's Indore Concert

Child protection authorities in Indore have directed the management of C-21 Mall to make sure singer Diljit Dosanjh does not sing four of his songs at his live concert at the venue on November 15.
The authorities said the songs have an adverse effect on young children. The notice, dated November 6 and issued by the District Child Protection Officer as part of the Women and Child Development Department, Indore, lists four songs: 'Patiala Peg', '5 Taara'', 'Jeeb Vicho Afeem' ('Case') and 'Jatt Uthe Fire Karda', all in Punjabi. The notice says the concert is open to children above the age of five, and that the songs have "a wrong influence on young children".
It directs the mall management, "in compliance with" a July 2019 order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, to ensure the songs are not sung during the concert. The action follows a complaint on November 1 by Chandigarh-based professor Panditrao Dharenavar.
