Bengaluru It was not until the mother of Nalini, one of the seven allegedly killed by cab driver-turned-YouTuber Indushekhar, lodged a missing person complaint that the police found the first clue to the murders. While the murders allegedly took place between October 16 and October 31, the last two bodies were disposed of on November 1 or 2. Senior police officers said that Sunita, the accused’s wife, and Roopavathi, his mother-in-law, were the first to be murdered.
Sunita and Indushekhar had been married for 20 years, and an officer said they had been having regular arguments throughout their marriage. Sunita worked as a typist for an advocate, while Indushekhar was a cab driver. Their respective jobs were often a point of contention between them.
“Indushekhar claimed that he was verbally abused and harassed by his wife and her family, while her brothers also encouraged her to fight with him,” a senior officer said. Prima facie, the police have found that Indushekhar had been planning the murders for over a year.
